How to Find Profitable Auction House Flips in Hypixel SkyBlock
How to find profitable Hypixel SkyBlock Auction House flips in real time. The workflow for scanning new listings, filtering out noise, and beating other flippers to the underpriced items.
Finding flips is a speed game. The Hypixel SkyBlock Auction House lists tens of thousands of new items per hour, and the good ones (the real underpriced listings) are gone in seconds. This guide shows how to set up a workflow that surfaces profitable flips in real time without drowning in noise.
Why manual scrolling doesn't work
The AH search filters are limited. You can sort by "lowest BIN", but you can't filter by margin, profit percent, or sell speed. Two listings at 1M coins can be completely different deals: one might resell for 1.2M, the other for 900k. You would have to open each one, check the price elsewhere, and decide in seconds. It just isn't possible at scale.
The 4-filter scanner workflow
A good flip scanner applies four filters on every new listing:
1. Target price reference
Every item has a fair price based on recent sales. The scanner pulls the current average from the SkyBlock sold-auction data and compares the listing against it. That's what the SkyAH price engine does. It weights recent sales, ignores outliers, and produces a single target price for every item variant.
2. Modifier awareness
A Hyperion with 5 stars and Necron's Handle is worth much more than one without. A clean scanner has to understand stars, reforges, enchantments, and other NBT modifiers, otherwise it compares apples to oranges. SkyAH parses every listing's NBT, not just its name.
3. Sell-speed gate
Even the best margin is worthless if nobody buys the item. The scanner should reject any flip where the average sell time is above a safe threshold (around 30 minutes for normal flips, longer gets risky).
4. Minimum profit threshold
Listings with 50k profit aren't worth the listing slot. Most serious flippers gate at 300k or higher. That keeps your inventory moving fast.
The SkyAH deals engine does all four automatically. Every listing that shows up on the deals page has already passed the filters. You just need to click fast.
Hotkeys and muscle memory
Seconds matter. Set up a Minecraft hotkey for your ender chest (for storage) and the AH menu. Practice opening the AH, searching by auction ID, confirming the buy, and closing the menu. That whole sequence should take under two seconds. Most beginners lose 30%+ of available flips to slow UI navigation, not to bot competition.
Bots, snipers, and competition
Yes, other players use flip scanners. No, that doesn't kill your flipping career. The AH is huge and there are always flips slower than the bots. Specifically:
- Mid-priced items (500k to 5M). Most bots prioritize big margins on expensive items. The mid-tier is wide open.
- Pets with specific levels. Most bots can't tell a level 1 Golden Dragon from a level 100. You can. That's your edge.
- Reforged / enchanted combinations. The more modifiers on an item, the harder it is for an automated scanner to price correctly. Human judgment still wins here.
Using real-time alerts
The SkyAH deals page lets you configure alerts per profit threshold and per item category. Set alerts for the categories you know well. Every time a new underpriced listing appears in that category, you get a notification sound and popup. Don't set alerts on "everything", you'll get fatigue and start ignoring them.
Measuring your scan-to-buy ratio
Track how many flips you see vs. how many you actually buy. A healthy ratio for a beginner is 1 buy per 20 deals seen. Intermediate flippers hit 1 in 10. Higher means you're buying too aggressively (and losing on bad deals). Lower means you're too cautious and leaving money on the table.
